Privacy Policy
Last updated 22 August 2026
This page explains, in plain language, what HYROX Registry collects, why, and what to do if you want something about you — or about an athlete whose result we publish — corrected or removed.
Who this is
HYROX Registry (https://hyroxregistry.com) is operated as an independent project. For anything in this policy — questions, corrections, or to exercise any of the rights below — contact support@hyroxregistry.com.
Information about you, as a visitor
We collect very little, and none of it identifies you unless you email us.
- Standard technical logs. Our hosting infrastructure automatically logs requests — IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and referring page — for security, abuse prevention and keeping the site running. This is infrastructure-level logging, not something we query to identify individual visitors.
- Search queries. The athlete search box submits your query as part of the page URL (/athletes?q=…). It is not stored separately from the technical logs above.
- Theme preference. Whether you’ve chosen light, dark, or system appearance is saved in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device and we never see it.
- Anything you send us. If you email support@hyroxregistry.com, we hold whatever you include — typically your email address, name if given, and your message — for as long as needed to handle the request.
We do not run analytics or advertising on the site today, so there are no tracking cookies or ad identifiers to disclose. If that changes, this policy and a cookie consent control will both be updated first — not after.
Information about athletes, in published results
This is the more unusual part of this policy: most of the personal data on this site belongs to athletes who raced, not to people who browse the site. Results pages show a name, nationality, division, finish time, rank and (where recorded) station splits, compiled from publicly published race records.
Our basis for publishing it is legitimate interest — making a publicly-run sporting event’s publicly published results findable and comparable, the way a results portal or a newspaper sports section does. We do not use it for any other purpose, and we do not sell it.
If you raced and want your name, splits, or an entire result corrected or removed, email support@hyroxregistry.com — we action verified requests without requiring a reason, and without argument. See also our corrections process.
Who else sees it
We don’t sell personal data, ever. A small number of infrastructure providers — hosting, database and email delivery — process data on our behalf strictly to keep the site running and to deliver correction-request emails; none of them use it for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
Published race results are kept indefinitely, as a historical sporting record, unless you request correction or removal. Technical logs are retained on our hosting provider’s standard rotation, not indefinitely. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to resolve the request and for a reasonable period afterward in case of follow-up.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your data — for example under the UK/EU GDPR or comparable US state laws. In practice, for this site, that means: email us and tell us what you want done. We respond to every request and do not require you to justify one.
Children
HYROX Registry is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16 beyond what may appear in a published race result for an event they legitimately competed in.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change — most likely by adding analytics or advertising — we’ll update this page and its “Last updated” date, and add a consent mechanism before anything new is turned on rather than after.
